hi guys need some help had my car remaped by elite remaps last week and the car was great really fast and responsive that day i drove home and felt a missfire the guy who did the map said that i might have some issue for a few days as the ecu is adjusting any way over weekend the exsaust light started flashing and missfiring again.
so this morning got into car the light is on all the time constantly and the missfire is still there never had any issues before the remap
ive uprated the dv for a forge item
ive heard of peaple needing 1 degree colder sparkplugs when theve had there remapd

What the hell i posted a response to this!?
Anyhow, take of the battery for 24 hours then put back on. this should re-set the ecu. Worked on my astra van after been dissapointed by a few mods

Probably a coilpack has bit the dust. Remaps will always highlight underlying problems
Get it scanned for fault codes to be sure :afro:

sounds like coil pack had the same happen to mine on the week end, done a scan and found misfire on no 1 cylinder and the exhaust light came on, replaced all 4 coil packs and all fine now

Before you go buying coil packs, ring your vw dealer's service department and ask if your car is on the coil pack recall. If it is then vw will replace all your coil packs free of charge.

Could just be something as simple as plugs - when were they last changed?
BTW, remaps should never bring on the ECU light or cause misfires during the time the ECU adapts itself!
