Title: Heaters?

Okay, its not quite a mk2 golf, but a B3 passat. I think the heaters are the same anyways.


Basically, the heaters are just cold. The 2 pipes going in to the bulkhead, have bin removed, and joined together. I can control the fanspeed, but no heat. Am new 2 all this, so go easy. I've looked in the info bit, but havn't seen anything like this on there. So any help will be greatful!

Well if the matrix has been bypassed that is your problem, so you need to look at replacing the matrix.

As wayne says, if its been bypassed its prob because its knackered and/or leaking.. Get a new matrix, pull your dash out and replace it, and you'll prob have wet carpets, or water under them at least.mine were dry to feel on top but had puddles underneath so have a good butchers...I started with exactly the same on my mk2 years and years ago. Was the first fix I ever did on the car, when I was about 16..
