Title: R LED Tail light Part numbers +another question!
Post by: Jimble on 20 March 2011, 21:36
As above, are the part numbers still the same for the LED tail lights?
1x 5K0 945 093 Q (Inner Light)
1x 5K0 945 094 Q (Inner Light)
1x 5K0 945 095 L (Outer Light)
1x 5K0 945 096 L (Outer Light)

I asked for a price for them at my local dealer a few weeks back but because i didn't have the numbers with me, the monkey behind the counter couldn't find them even though i told him it was the R tail lights, said he could only look for items based on my chassis/reg number

Yes correct part numbers.

ETKA is not the easiest program to use at times. I spent ages the other night trying to find the part number for an ABS sensor i broke while changing the wheel bearing on an ibiza :embarassed: The sensor was not called what i was expecting it to be or were i expected it to be listed. :undecided:

Another question for anyone that has retrofitted these, on my standard halogen lights, if i open the boot with the lights on the inner lights go off until i close the boot again, presumably to sto them shining in your eyes as the boot lid opens? do the LED's do this? just watched SteveP video on youtube again with the boot popper mod and they don't go out.
Cheers

They can be coded to either stay on or go off when the boot lid is opened.

The dealer prices will be as pretty much as above from when I enquired the other day. Fortunatly I managed to get mine cheaper through my sisters other half who works for Audi  An expensive mod but well worth it.

I know it's been mentioned before but has anyone asked about warranty issues with retrofitting them? Or had any issues for that matter?
Thanks for advice so far gents.

I got my dealer to supply them with the car!

Is that where most people are getting them then, through the dealer?  I would be happier doing that than ordering from a German tuning website...

Just a little update as Asker reminded me, car had it's first service last week and i thought while i was there i'd ask the question about warranty, very helpful warranty manager explained that as i would be using genuine parts then obviously these parts would have a 2 year warranty and fitting them would not invalidate the manufacturers warranty on the car, however if a fault arises as a result of how they've been fitted then they are within their rights to refuse to repair it under warranty conditions, he did say that he didn't think i'd have any problems though. I suppose i'm one of the lucky ones to have a helpful friendly dealer. They also fitted my sidelights foc and adjusted and lubricated my door latches to stop some annoying clunking. i got the parts department price up the part numbers for the lights and it was £505 give or take a couple of pence and they are available for next day delivery.
Hope this helps someone

I thought that before i got mine, but i always have a good look when leaving the car, and look great when the Follow Me Home lights are on

They look great and without a doubt imo the best aesthetic mod you can fit.

Does anyone know if there is a 100% certainty to get the R LED tails to work correctly on a PRE 45/2009 GTI (left side drive)?

I can see that Kufatec sells the adapters and coding interfaces but they all have the text "for vehicles after week of production 45/2009".

Thanks!

Hi mate, you are limited by the BCU. Mine was the wrong version so I bought the correct one off eBay.de and had it fitted.  If you get a D version you'll be good and it will support Xenons but not te new LED DRL versions.

Can't seem to find any from eBay.de, I'll need to investigate.
If anyone has a link to the one needed, I'd appreciate.

This is the model number you'll need 1K0937087D, there aren't any on eBay.de at the moment.

You still may not need to get it as it is possible that your current BCU is compatible. You'll need to get the BCU scanned to see what model you have as some early 2009 BCU's are compatible.

Cheers,

Jim
