Title: golf V5 . anything to look out for?

going to look at a 2000 plate golf V5 . so is there anything to look out for?

well remember this will be the 150bhp not the 170!
rear bushes
cam chain clatter
sump damage as these are £350 fitted as only supplied by vw for the v5s

What makes you want a V5, turbo is a much better bet.

got a 2 litre non turbo gti as v5 was sold. shame because it was the bright yellow metallic.
also been informed that the turbo is not very reliable . had one before, head cracked and bent a con rod. great!
expensive...
the one i want is a gti tdi but not enought funds :sad:
happy with the new one thou

2.0 8v is not any better than a 1.8 for reliability tbh  :lipsrsealed:

Turbo has less issues than the 2.0, they tend to drink oil and water plus are sloooooooooooooooooooooooow.

Hate to say this but you have bought the wrong car.  :smiley:
