Title: what interior is this in my golf

Hi,

Can someone please confirm it the below interior could of been factory fitted or if it has been added later in life? Its full black leather, with read headrests, leather door cards and heated front seats with the switchs for this on the dash. I 'think' its highline interior from a VR6 etc but not 100% sure and wondered if it was available as a added extra from the factory

it's out of a vr6. If they're heated then i think they're from a highline but not sure

Thanks. Yeah there heated, so no option when new to put in a 96 2.0 8v GTI?

Very nice! I think its from a vr6 highline or possibly a diamond black colour concept but certainly not an optional extra for the 8v.

Defo VR Highline, the colour concept's had the Recaro Leathers in em  :wink:

high line vr6 been put in later was never a extra for the 2lre 8v the only ones that were put in from new were colour matching (ie) red blue ect  looking good though wish mine had it lol

Sorry your all wrong! My 8v has factory fitted heated leather same as yours dude.
it is a extra

lol how do you tell people they're wrong without saying "your wrong"? lol

all I know is that my mk3 has 25,000 miles. had one lady owner that sadly died and her husband kept the car until I bought it. totally original and untouched. you can even see nothing has even been unscrewed so leather was factory fitted and he even told me that's how they bought it back in 1997.
 they had the ac extra too  :smiley:

another way to tell is if the gear stick and handbrake handle is leather.

Could have easily been scavenged from a VR6 also.

Yes leather is a rare expensive option on the GTI, so more than likely been removed from a VR6 at a later date.

I'm not saying it wasn't taken from a vr6. I was just correct the people saying that black heated leather wasn't a option. It was a option for the gti. I have it and his also could be factory fitted and not from a vr6.

if it was an original factory option then surely the part code will be on the white factory sticker that sits beneath the boot carpet or inside the front cover of the service booklet?

Leathers were a extra option

as were recaros

as were loads of other bits

too many folk are too quick to just agree with the first reply without even actually knowing, im with tweed on this. also take a lokk in the options leaflet/booklet  :wink:  i got one of those with mine and the original sales brochure for the GTI

Tweed - Thanks mate. It does have the leather handbrake and gear stick as well as Air Con just like you  :grin:

factory fitted optional extra.
looked at the optional extra list in the rear of my 16v and it says on there (cant remember the code though)
full heated leather.
a/c
full one piece leather gear knob
and leather door cards too

The Mulberry VR's had smoothed door cards, I  know cos I'm running Mulberry leathers  :wink:
