Ive invested in a DA polisher kit and id like to know if this is all ill need. Im new to this so bare with me.
My kit:-
1x DAS6 Dual Action Electric Polisher with 1x 5" backing plate.
1x Dodo Juice Waffle Polishing pad
1x Dodo Juice Waffle Finishing pad
1x Dodo Juice Lime Prime Polishing Compound 250ml
1x Dodo Juice Lime Prime Lite Finishing Compound 250ml
1x Roll of 3m 3434 25mm detailing tape
1x Dust remover Detailing Soft Head Brush
Is there anything else ill need or any advise wouldn't fall on deaf ears :smiley:
Ive bought a black car and my usual by hand :wink: system just doesn't work so I got myself a DA polisher.

nice bit of kit, just for the record lime prime and lime prime lite are not compounds, lime prime is a pre-wax cleanser with abrasives and lime prime lite is a pre wax cleanser glaze no abrasives.
if you havent got any already you'll need some sealant or wax to apply when you've finished polishing to protect the paint.
also claying before you polish will remove contminants from the surface making it smooth and ready for polishing.

If you've never used a machine polisher before, get an old panel from the scrappys and have a practice 1st............ :wink:

I already use lime prime etc and I thought they weren't compounds but Im still happy with my kit. I have chemical guys sealant and meguairs mirrior wax. Ive been using all the products just I thought id get better results with a machine polisher and it wont take me the amount of time it does at the moment to apply and remove all these products. I have some Meguiar's Ultimate Compound so when would I use this?
I have the lime prime and the lime prime lite. I then have sealant and wax so where would I fit in using the compound and with what type of pad?
My car is black and showing the usual swirls and lite scratches which I got the DA and compound for.
A list of what to use and in what order would be great :smiley:

pre soak car with snowfoam if you have a snowfoam lance.
rinse off
wash car 2bm
rinse car
clay whole car
rinse
dry
ultimate compound on the polishing pad, do each panel in sections work the polish well into each section.
lime prime on the buffing pad again doing each panel in sections, lime prime is quite an oily product so has a long working time.
then apply lime prime lite by hand, wipe on wipe off, work in small sections again on each panel, no heavy pressure needed just apply with an applicator evenly and buff off straight away.
2 layers of sealant, buff inbetween layers
wax(is it #16 in the blue tin?) 2 layers applied thinly, buff inbetween layers.
stand back and admire the your hard work

I have a quality snowfoam lance but I think my actual foam is poor quailty, it never foams right, could you suggest a quality snowfoam?
I also have Pro Valet orange TFR. Its new on the waxomomo site so thought id give it a shot as its easier to apply than getting the pressure washer out and set up. Ive bought a quality pump sprayer to apply it or do you suggest sticking with the snow foam?

Ive also ordered a soft cutting pad so would that be better to use with the cutting compound?

no a polishing pad is fine for what you want it for, you'd only need a cutting pad if you were doing heavy correction work like scratch removel etc,
whats the snowfoam you've got? and how much are you putting in the bottle before you top it up with warm water?
cool, megs#16 is a great wax, dampen applicator and put it on very very very thin, this stuff will give you grief if you apply it to thick and leave it on too long.

And according to the write up and customer reviews, its the best buy.
I don't get nice thick foam and it certainly does'nt cling on for very long so it must be me?
I have a quality 'proper' snowfoam bottle with brass fixings etc.
I put an inch of product in the bottle and fill the bottle up with warm water then attach it to my pressure washer and no matter how much I twiddle with the valve it does'nt seem to improve. I do get foam but not like on the video of the orange focus :cry:

ok how long have you had it? and have you used it quite alot?
the gause inside the foam lance could be bunged up with sludge etc from the solution, it builds up over time but can build up quickly if the solution is left in the head inbetween uses and not flush out with clean water.
also there could be a dirt or grit trapped somewhere in the head blocking the small holes and reducing the performance.
sorry for all the questions mate just trying to work towards a solution here for you;)

Had it for 8 months give or take. Always rinse it out after use erm I will check the gause and hopefully that mite be the issue.
On the valve should it be more positive or negative? I get it foaming just not thick and its hit and miss, as in it'll foam for a few seconds then clear water will come out then some more foam then water etc etc. Its more like white water than thick foam :undecided: :cry:

If Im being honest I do wash it after use but Im guessing not good enough, Im all most 100% positive that some sort of blockage will be my problem.
Right now for another question............. Is snow foam OK on fabric roofs???????????
My car being a Audi A4 convertable, I have been trying to just use snowfoam on the body but its hard not to get some on the roof, Ive feared snow foam will stain or effect the waterproofing of my fabric roof?

Right Ive stripped down my foam lance and cleaned it. Left it to soak in boiling water for a while to "breakdown" any left over soap suds and dried and put back together. Hopefully this will fix my poor foaming issue.
I do think the lance should come with instructions on how to use and how to maintain :angry:
Mine like probably many others came with nothing.
Now ill have to wait til next weekend to see if it works :cry:

no probs mate hope its helped, fingers crossed it works well next time you use it.
if the soft top on the audi is in good condition just wash it with your normal shampoo and rinse it off really well.

My foam lance only seems to produce a thick foam if I start it while holding the bottle upside down, after 5 seconds or so it's fine so maybe that would be worth a try, it annoys me but been like that since I got it!
