Title: Few Probs....

Elo.I'm new to mk3's and ave just bought a 8v gti in flash red and just a few niggles with it which i hope someone could help me with..The drivers door lock just spins in the handle not doin nothing and when i pull the key out it comes about 3mm and the other thing is when i am goming to a stop and put the clutch and brake the revs will dip lower than tickover and now and again go low enough to cut out...
any info would be really appreciated..

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE REVS AND THE CAR CUTTING OUT
READ ALL THE PAGES OF POSTS ABOUT GOLFS CUTTING OUT YOU WILL FIND THE SAME THIGN HAPENS TO ALL MK3
GOLFS/GTI'S
LOTS OF THINGS TO TRY CLEANING OUT THE THROTALL BODDY WORKED ON MY N REG 8V GTI.

Carb cleaner m8 and now it runs a dream its just the door lock prob i can't find any info on.So if anyone can help it would be much appreciated...

WD40 and elbow grease
as for the lock had the same thing on a cavalier i had (sad but cheap) there was a clip on the inside of the door
that had fallen of
just had a look in the Haynes manual  think there i a retaining clip inside the door have to take the door panel of to get to the door lock
there is a connecting rod and spring
then there is a coupling and spring clip
if there are damaged this might be the problem???????
