Title: Increasing Dwell Time
Post by: Jimmymature on 17 March 2011, 18:45

Hi experts. I have some Bilberry Wheel Cleaner it works great but the sprayer I use doesn't seem to foam well and I get very little dwell time.

Any tips on where to get a dispenser from that would help improve it?  Would this be any good?

I want to do the wheels tomorrow so I can't wait for delivery from a specialist detailing supplier. Would a garden centre style sprayer do the job or not?

Comments and views (as always) are appreciated.

You could try a boggo plant sprayer type head but i doubt it'll last very long mate, i personally find bilberry doesn't really need to foam up, seems to do the job if i spray it on and start to aggitate it with a brush after about 30 seconds or so, i use the megs chemical head, i don't use the bilberry every wash though, sometimes just shampoo will do for my shadows.

Jim

As said Bilberry is more effective if agitated with a soft brush (which in turn foams up slightly)

Have you also thought about sealing the wheels with something like gtechniq C5?

I seal my wheels with JetSeal 109 the foaming isn't needed for my GTI as the wheels are in great condition. My wifes Passat on the other hand is a different story

Thanks mate, looks exactly what I want but I need something this weekend

I might just have to try a garden centre special in the meantime.

Haven't you got anything under your sink that you could poach the spray head off? Disinfectant or something? Just give it a good old spray through with some soapy water to clean out anything you wouldn't want on your wheels and bobs yer uncle.

I use one of these for wheel cleaning... seems to work very well

but for personal use the spray head that Purple Haze recommended seems spot on
