as the title says really just bought the missus a mk4 20v gti and she desided to keep her audi so i'm having the golf, the rear box looks a little tired to just wondering whats out there and how much, i think i would prefer a stealth style that hides behind the bumper like stock ones.
cheers mike.

Milltek Discrete is about £340 from roadrunner. Scorpion discrete are about £280 but never heard the Scorpion. I have the Milltek and its worth every penny. A mate of mine got a 2nd hand Milltek the other weekend for £160!
-
Jetex or Miltek are both good choices.

or custom

is that just for a back box or cat back
-
Cat back. Might as well for the money
-
I have a blue flame cat back

I've got a true 2.5" catback from powerflow with discrete tail pipe, I've had people compliment how it sounds, it's definately deeper sounding than my mates 1.8t but I think thats because the tip is facing the ground, but that also means it can be a bit boomy especially as I have a 3" decat and downpipe, but it's not all bad when accelerating slowly around town everyone can hear an unmistakeable turbo whistle very clearly.
All in all sounds droany when Im driving it normally (~1500 rpm) but when it's being pushed it don't sound bad at all can definately hear the wastegate open especially in a tunnel - it screams
-
yeah not to fond of boomy systems , just want a bit more noticable noise, my standard system is so quite i sometimes think i have stalled it.
-
Milltek systems are far from loud, even the non res ones. People who say their loud either are too old for a GTI or have dog hearing!
-
Would a standard anni exhaust sound louder and be better for performance on a 150 gti? (wiv map n decat) than a standard exhaust ........
Dont wanna steel thread but sorta ties in....
-
Yeah, larger bore and less restrictive. Looks cool too but the valance is needed or itll look pony
Dunno about standard, think its the same as normal albeit the tailpipe but again the rear valance would need changing
-
i had non res and it was still too quiet lol

Yeah why not?? The anni one has been cut to get it off....
Got a connector and if it fits will use it, or am i doin a bad thing???
-
The valance my man.......
-
the main reason i asked really is because i build exhaust and was wondering what would the cheaper option, me making one when i'm as busy as hell or just buying an off the shelf one.
-
The valance my man.......
Sorry thats the vodka thinkin
Well will take it off first fit exhaust then think about it after!!!!
I cant realld drive around without a valance...........,can i???

42 Drafts Designs would of been the one I went for if I had the choice again instead of my Milltek,
