Title: 6x9's instead of sub?

hi well i carnt afford any sub and wont be for along time as i am a student and saving up for AYINAPPPA 2011 with the lads  :laugh:
so i have 2 6x9's that i got for 20quid and i have just splashed out 120 on these:
i also bought a 4awg wiring kit,
so what i want to do i make a box on each side of the boot, one that will hold the amp and one 6x9 and the other just one 6x9 i dont wanna put them in my parcel shelf i think they look pretty bad there, i was gunna use them for a lower bass, obv not too low or i would need a sub :P. coax's are going in doors btw,all wired up to the amp, think this is a good idea?

You do realise the 6x9's are not subs but merely a bigger speaker covering the lows, mids and bass? They are designed to be placed on the shelf and not in the boot.  Don't expect much from £20 6x9s either. The coaxial's are fine at the front.

There is a sub for sale in the classified section - think its only about £50! i will find a link and wee if its still there

check on ebay and gumtree ive seen subs and amps go for £50-100

I had bought a cheap sub (£80 new) from the maker Zero. Was a bottom/middle range sub but it performed really well. They don't have to be expensive to sound awesome, just use the headunit to fine tune it  :smiley:

done. all sounds good like, could do with a sub but then what would i do with 6x9? i do not have rear speakers recon i could cut away at the door card and make a mount behind for the 6x9?
also just to confirm you can get interferance when you put the rca's and the power cable next to each other. i learnt the hard way!
