Post by: mr mk2 on 16 March 2011, 11:07
does any1 know what could be wrong with my gti it keeps cutting out at junctions when its warm but its only started doing it since i asked my m8s son to move it 4 me (as i was coated in oil ) and he rammed it into reverse with his foot on the break insted of the clutch, there was obviously a masive crunch  then a stall and since then this problem has occurd

fail, clearly digi, just clocked ure numberplate in ure sig, seems ure as stupid as me lol

check the rubber bung underneath the space ship disc shaped oil thingy on top of the rockercover, if its split that will cause the stalling. sounds like wat ever your mate did wouldnt of caused much damage other than gearbox and there all made of cheese any way

check the idle switch is heard to click as you open and shut the throttle, and the wiirng to it isnt snapped behind the inlet. idle switch is on the bottom of the tb so its fiddly to adjust it if its not clicking. make sure throttle cable isnt too tight before you adjust the switch though
