I'm currently gathering all the elements for my 20v turbo conversion in my mk2 golf.
Picking engine up this weekend.
trying to sort out the management (I want to use the original clocks)
Going to make a kit up for the intercooler consisting of hoses and stainless steel tubing.
1 question to the guys that have done this or anyone one else in the know. Braking? how far do I go?
I quite like the Idea of Porsche brakes. I'm running 928 alloys so i was thinking 928/944 calipers??
or are the ones currently fitted (8v gti) good enough???

I have g60 brakes on mine and there is plenty of stop in them. I also know a guy who has twin pot s2 on his and he swears by them. G60 is plenty and are handy to get
-
brakes all depend on what power your going to be running
-
280mm setup will be fine unless your going daft with the power in which look at going bigger.
-
280 mm g60's are fine for most, s2 twin pot callipers are to heavy.
if going much past 250 bhp and intend to drive it hard id be looking at 305mm brembos from a seat
-
Im rocking 240 when she is actually working but I assume that the KR is a lighter lump. She has plenty of stopping power in the G60's anyhow
-
like said above 280's will be up for the job, above 250 id opt for the 305mm brembo set which i run, they have alot of stopping power...

if you get some part worn qualifying slicks and get them hot, and have the 305's with the right pads you can make a stripped out mk2 do stoppies, frount splitter dosent like it but it's funny
