Title: mk2 driveshafts
Post by: bosco on 15 March 2011, 01:00
Anyone have any guides on fitting mk2 driveshafts back into place in the hub. I have it sitting in the hub on the splines but cant get it to stay in. Do I have to force it or what do I do?
Cheers

Have it bolted to gearbox and in hub and also thought I had the splines lined up but obviously not. If it is not bolted on the hub will it just pull out? Does doing the nut on the hub stop it from popping out or should it not pop out if I have the splines lined up?

the splines stop it rotating in the hub and the nut stops it popping off.. is it the sam driveshaft you removed or another ??

you will no if its in properly as when the nut done up should be about 5mm thread poking from end of the nut and remember to do nut up to 265nm iirc..
