Can anybody confirm if this is the same method used for installing cruise control on the mk6?
Iv had a search on here but it seems everyone thats done it has the newer 2011 cars, im on a 59 plate!
Any help would be much appreciated and if it is as much effort as that looks, does anybody want to make a few beer tokens doing it for me?
Iv had my lot with fiddling about with the airbag!
Heres the link: http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/337493/2281621.aspx
And heres the part which i have: Part Number 1K0 953 513 (probably wrong!)

Seems like a lot of work to me?? i thought it was just removing the wheel, replacing the stalk for a cruise one and then coding?
-
You won't need to run that wire in on a Mk6, this was only required on the early Mk5's
-
Thats good, i thought it would just be a case of wheel off and plug in.
Anyone know if a new slip ring is needed?
-
I would say The Doc is the best one to ask as I believe he's fitted them and programmed it with VCDS. He should comment when he comes around.

Snoopy, I used the below on my MY10 Roc R.
Slip ring controller 5K0 953 569H
Stalk 5K0 953 502 B 9B9
The set up on a MY10> Roc was different to a 59 plate. The two stalks come as one piece, and the SW cont is part of the slipring. It is all fairly easy to do, SW off, 3 screws and a few plugs and the Slipring and SW cont comes off, 3 spring clips and the Stalks pull off, then the reverse and code.

There appears to be a few part numbers 1K0 953 513 G 9B9, 1K0 054 690 B, 1K0 054 690 A (http://www.volkswagen-accessories.ie/cruise_control4) I know it says Jetta but they are common on alot of models. Just Google the part numbers.
I've been thinking about getting a cruise control switch. If you Google it there are loads fitting tips and kit needed on different models.
The thing is VW don't do things simply you can't screw the switch on from the side you have to remove the wheel. Anyone got any tips about removing the wheel and airbag that we should watch out for?

1K0 953 513 G 9B9 Is the model number of the stalk which i got, its suitable for the 2006-10 Jetta as far as i know.

Got mine cheaper than this though

I believe there was a design change. On my Roc MY10 (delivered March 10) both stalks were one complete piece. The earlier variant has single stalks. Not sure if the same on the Golf...........

£10 sounds fair, don't pay for the cruise until it's working please
