Title: Happich pop outs
Post by: Reasty on 14 March 2011, 08:41
after seeing a set of happich pop outs on a mk2 at ultimate dubs yesterday I have decided that I really want a set of these on the mk2! now I am aware how Rare they are and I know they also go for alot of money but where's the best place to start to try and find a pair or has anyone got some they want to sell?

Cheers!!!

They sometimes come up on ebay or edition38 for about a million pounds.

so you want to:

A) Have a swimming pool in your car
B) Leave the keys in the car door for the thieves, saves them damaging your freshly fitted happich's
C) Pay over the odds for what are simply unsecured flaps on the back of your motor.

Well, good luck to you.

I absolutely cant stand happich windows.

Makes the front glass look odd as the black seal is thinner.

They rattle, they look crap imo, and comes with an edition38 price tag aka a RIP OFF!

Dont waste the money

Gotta agree with everyone, they're the biggest waste of time imo.450- jeez man that's complete car money, or at least a full abf conversion with a few new ancillaries, and I know what would make me appreciate the golf more...

I like Happich windows, properly fitted, with unstretched rubber seals, and the correct tension  on the hinges, and fasteners, they should be water tight, and give no problems. At UD this weekend, I saw at least 5 cars with them fitted, 2 of those cars had them poorly fitted, and the rubber seals looked tired, and seen better days, there are plenty of other cars out there that use the same set up as the Happich kits, so finding a new rubber seal, that can be adapted to fit, really shouldn't be a problem, just requires a little detective work...

putting leccy windown in the back of a 3 door.  thats an old trick now

it's not even that hard to do ether once you've got brave and done the required cutting, the hardest part of the job is getting the seals right  actualy putting the leccy mechanisum in and gettign the window to go up and down is a pice of piss
Title: Re: Happich pop outs

Anyone looked at fitting the leccy pop outs that are fitted to the likes of my Audi S2 Coupe?

Nice but still make the front windows seals look fatter (odd)

What a douche!  I had a set off of him, but when all and sundry started sporting them, I flogged them without even opening the box.  Turns out they were f**kced, and you need to see the actuator that he's used on his car, it's like an electric aerial motor poking out of the 'c' pillar.

Post by: Mr Blue on 21 March 2011, 22:17
Ohh no not good at all Lewy!

IF i did run a set i would have a black surround around the glass. Just the thinner seal makes them look well out of place

If you like them then £385 is a reasonable price. However, at £600+ I reckon it would be cooler (see what I did there?) to reto-fit air con.

With so many modern cars having air-con these days, the breakers must be full of the necessary parts to cobble together a working system.
