no defo ticking just felt down the back off the engine and 2 off the manifold bolt are loose could this cause the tickin under boost

Yes a loose manifold will cause a ticking sound.

exhaust gases pulse so if there is a leak it will tick as you describe

mmm, its sounds like you have a similar problem to me. I recently had the cambelt and auxy belt changed on my car and now just before coming on boost i here lick a tapping sound that speeds up with the revs and then you cant here it once the turbo spool is louder. happens in all gears. I suspect it may be linked to when the cambelt was changed and need to go back to the garage.

Did speak with nick about it and he said to check the N75 wasnt catching on owt and also check for a split in the pipes that goto the n75, all is fine though. I cant replicate the noise on tick over and just revving the engine. The car needs to be moving.

So i think theres not an issue with the turbo.

its defenatly leaking exhaust gasses if the manifold nuts are loose.. easliy fixed as long as the gasket hasnt burnt out.

Should be heading down to R-Tech tomorrow to try and find out what my problem is. will update you on the findings to see if it helps cure your problem aswell.

Ask em post me my bloody plastic bit back to me please mate lol they seem to not wanna send it back :(

Hope they sort it, I have a light rattle when accelerating/coming on boost, if it does it once boosting I dunno as I can't hear it there on it. Be interesting to see if they find anything amiss with yours.

spent the day at R-Tech and found the fault and all is fixed. Im running a 3" japspeed downpipe and it had cracked on the weld where it bolts on to the turbo. So welded it up, fitted it back on and no more ticking noise. Boosting better aswell.

Thanks to Nick, Lenny, Jim n Ben. Also nice to meet Jamie16v

Yeah I have a feeling mine is gonna be something similar... going to get priced up for a 3" downpipe and sports cat at the weekend, I'll see if he has time check too.

avoid the jap crap downpipes mate. apparently its common for the welds to crack as R-tech had another in a few weeks back.

Just gonna go to powerflow, they did a mates for 160 inc a sports cat which sounds toooooo cheap so I think he was BS'ing me a bit but soon find out lol.

Also I think my cat is probably a bit dead, possibly rattling when loads of air being chucked through it?

Not sure if powerflow can do you a 3 inch downpipe. Would bother chnaging unless you can get a 3 inch downpipe.
