H i all
my name is Jack and I'm still looking for my first Gti ,? today I found a mint Gti I wanted to buy but all I could find was 2 rivet holes front left hand side were I expected the VIN plate to be, but half way up on the light hand side there was a black strip with the VIN number on it and weight etc Does any body know the location of the VIN plate on a ?R? Gti 8v

Welcome to the site.  :smiley: I don't know where the VIN plate should be on a mk3 but if you put a thread in the mk3 section you'll get a reply in no time.  :smiley:
