Title: downpipe and decat
Post by: Jayz on 13 March 2011, 12:17
I've been looking at getting these for a while

and i know MOT time you have to put you cat back on etc but ive heard VOSA has started doing roadside checks on cars now, has anyone experienced this? or got in any trouble for not having your cat on? I'm really tempted to get one but just dont wanna go through all the hassle.

No probs.

Chances are you will never get stopped and checked but i wouldnt want the risk or hassle.

They are everywhere in devon see them every week

Get a tdi

They can give you a fine i believe, also if they find you havnt got one then you change it back to get tested then refit the decat and they catch you again they will without a doubt take it further.

I used to be a petrol head but now im a torque head which is so much worse! Clutch, Dmf, Tyres......  :lipsrsealed:

Defo run a sports cat OR just speak to a friendly garage that can do a changable cat system, me and a friend done one so it takes 10 minutes to change it road side

or, smash the insides out of a cat and use that, they dont have roadside emissions (the ones ive seen dont) its just a visual check.

or lower your car so much that they cant peek under, lol

taking it off ad having a look, or doing an emissions test, cos without a cat then theres no way itll pass
