hi,
well... I was putting some new tar-ox discs and pads on today (312mm upgrade) and noticed on my drivers side part of the subframe looks bent... would this be able to be straightened out do you think, or new (used but straight) subframe? The passenger side looks ok, possibly a very slight bend. When I bought the car it had some damage to the drivers side door/wing so assume this is related to that. I'm going to go to somewhere with one of those hunter alignment machines to see what the angles are..... here's a pic.

wheres it bent ??
-
+1 ???
-
lol maybe its not then... well.... the part where the arb bush is attached to... I guess not the subframe itself as such, I know it should look like that from looking at other photos but dont know if/what it would effect.
I'll find another pic for comparisson unless its nothing to worry about?

not the best pic but sure you can see it well enough? the boxed section where the arb bush is mounted to, the front part of it on mine is deformed so assume its taken a whack and touching where I assume one of the subframe bolts must go through? Just wondered if its something I should be concerned about?

looks ok to me :nerd:
-
and me, looks no different to mine, unless mines bent aswell!!

if it aint broke dont fix it lol
-
lol ok.... the second pic is someone elses car for comparison and clearly 'normal' the first pic is mine where it's curved/bent/whatever!
I guess I'll just take it to get the alignment checked and see if everything is within spec.
thanks

if it aint broke dont fix it lol
if its not I have no intention of doing so!

i think i see the bit you mean - as per
(http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp359/chuffs69/bentframe.jpg)
if so, get it laser aligned, if all is well dont worry
-
i saw it but didnt think it was anything to worry about tbh
-
yea, that part.... I went on that alignmycar.co.uk or whatever it was so i'll go get it checked out sometime, I was planning to anyway as I just has the front and rear wishbone bushes changed (superpro poly), ball joints changed and also top mounts so... the place that did it said they did the tracking but think it was a basic set up with prehistoric tools so no info as such. So i'll get a print out and see how things are.
thanks for the illustration.
