Title: needing spacers?
Post by: CraigDavieBeattie on 11 March 2011, 18:55
Right guys, long time no see.

Got myself some RS6's, not the newer styled ones.. however after getting tyres on them and the guys tried to fit he said the coilovers are touching the tyres which are 235 or 225, wotever.. however he says 5mm spacers should be fine.

Should i just buy these 5mm which are only £7 and put them on or wot? I have JOM blueline Coilovers if that helps. cheers.

i dont know if you were ment to put a link or not?

but yes ide put 5mm spacers on, or maybe bigger if your wanting a slightly wider stance.

if they say 5mm i would buy 7mm better stance and more space from coilovers

space the rear too or itll look a bit weird with the rears tucked in more.

dont get more than 10mm, if you are then youll need hubcentric spacers

so if i get 5mm for front and 5mm for back then that'll be fine? what about these universal type spacers? are they alright to use? i'll probs get better spacers in due course but for now will these do the job? couple of weeks.

im not fussed about how it looks if im honest mate i just want these wheels to fit without any rubbing etc, if the universals do for a week or two whilst i look for better replacements then so be it if there ok till then. im only needing 5mm but if i can buy 7mm then even better.

No probs, you will only need hubcentric and longer bolts for 10mm and above.

Cool cheers, right got them on this morning. Got 5mm spacers, turns out the back doesnt need them was just front. The previous wheels i had on were 235 45 17 then to 225 40 18 and the touched without the spacer so all good just now. I got 2 pairs of spacers for £30, £15 a pair. Universal things but they'll do until i buy a stronger type to keep my mind at peace. Will upload pics in the pictures section.
