Title: Advice needed
Post by: J_V_Dub on 11 March 2011, 18:37
Hello chaps,

I'm new on here but been lurking for quite a while. I just purchased my 2nd MK4 1.8GTI after my first one was written off withing 4 days of me getting it.

I was hoping that some of you could give me some advice on the below questions :

1. I seem to have a lot of oil (tar) spots on the body (see pic) and was wondering what is the best suff to remove it with ?

2. The interior trim seems to be quite crap so is it better to try and repair it or should I just get new parts ?

3. I want to do few little modifications to it in terms of visual but is there anything mechanical you can recommend ?

I think that would be it for now and cheers for any replies :D
Jack

You could always carbon wrap your door handle and the rest of the interior trim rather than buy new parts, If you do a search on here you will find some pics of finished results.

Rather have it wrapped than keep the classic grandad wood effect

It's not that bad, there's not loads of poor looking wood. Better than making it look like a plastic chav 'I wish I could afford carbon fibre' chav mobile.

Or you could the ever popular net optic or R32 interior trims.

A good tar remover is Tardis. Google it or search on ebay as that's where I get mine from.
