hi guys,
i have quite a few questions on this upgrade.
i have the RCD310 and want to get an RNS510. i just want to know if its a straight swap or will i have to buy different cables, i know there will be an an extra cable for the GPS but is that all? can i use the existing cables from the RCD310? also if i get a multifunction steering wheel what cables do i need to make it compatible with the RNS510.
i also want to get bluetooth for my iphone working in the car but properly - i mean with all the cables hidden i don't want to buy a separate unit that clips to my sun visor. does any know how i could do this using either the RCD310 or the RNS510 units?
i have a 1.4 TSI so is any of this even possible?
help would be very appreciated as i am looking to do all of this very soon.
thanks,
Ben.

Ben
It should be a swap out with no issues.
Can't answer re the MFSW
You can buy the Bluetooth module (around £250-£300) and wire it to the RNS510 - all hidden either under the seat or behind the 510

Hi Ben
If you search through this forum you'll find a thread or three on the numbers - look in the maintenance section at the top ^^^
You plug in the unit and then wire in the microphone either in the overhead central section or in the A pillar
If I find one I'll post it here

Thats the Bluetooth kit Iv installed and it works fine with the iPhone4.
No on screen text messages though because the iPhone doesn't support rsap
The Bluetooth kit works fine with the rcd310 but remember you will have to get it coded using vagcom or vcds etc
Or you could always just get stuck like I did and think you've wrecked your airbags the day after you got your car like I did and have to phone the doc to come to help you out!
Try the links above and if your still stuck give me a shout and I can help you out
