Hello peoples,
Is it possible to just replace the lower valance alone on a mk3 GL rear bumper, or do you have to replace the complete bumper?
Thanks

Complete bumper

Hmmm. I thought that as the case, but hoped it was separate like the mk4.
I'm hunting around for one for my brother. His now has a fist sized hole through it where a tow bar used to be
Thanks

Not that expensive s / h tbh
-
Complete bumper
Are you sure?
I was aware that it could be changed given they sell them seperately...

All the ones I have seen the rear lower valance is one piece plus a complete bumper will be cheaper.

Complete bumper
thats right...it's all 1 moulding but ensure you get same as whats fitted now (plain, part coloured or fully coloured) as flaky paint never looks good
-
Are you talking about the bit at the bottom of the bumper?

If so then i'm almost 100% certain that it is removable..

I think it is - pulls away like the front splitter doesnt it?
-
^ nope its all one piece for definate
-
So why are they selling after market replacement parts? Also there was a diagram on here that showed it could be removed..
-

Nope, all the ones I have seen it is part of the bumper.

Well looks like it is only one unit! the only bit that comes off is the tow eye cover

Nope it along with most of them fits over the standard rear valance.
Just for info when I asked VW they told me it was not available and was part of the bumper.
