Do or did all mk3 gtis come with remote central locking? Ive got a 92' gti. Obviously the central locking system is there I'm just being lazy and wondering if ther is a remote system built in? I've only got 1 key and it doesn't have a remote on it.
Cheers!

Nope none had it standard only aftermarket.

Coolies! Guess that's another thing I hits save up for!
-
worst thing is yours wont even have an immobiliser! (don't want the mk2 boys having your engine) you can get decent remote lock alarm/immob's for under £200 with the magic money off insurance cert

i have a 96 mk3 gti what would do i have do anyone know ???
-
U know it! A 4 year old could steal my car! Security features r pony! I need to get round n buy some licking wheel nuts asweel otherwise someones got a free set of rs4 alloys not to mention a brand new alpine Bluetooth headunit!
Bit short on dough atm... Got loads of plans n ideas! Need to win the lottery or start selling my body to OAPs to fund them!

Yeah and imagine car crime (twocking/joyriding) was huge in the early 90's and it took vw until 1995 to fit an immobiliser and basic alarm
(so gti gaz yours will/should be a coded key immobiliser)

sweet thought it was. can you tell me how to go about getting a remote key sorted as i only have one key two and its starting to give me problems

for the ignition/door key go to simpsons and get one cut and coded but for an alarm fob you need to try someone like eurotronics in manchester (mail order)

just want a remote key for the doors bud. am going to get a spare cut though so i have one how easy is it to set up a remote key for mine?

There is a "how to" guide on here somewhere, that will tell you how to connect an aftermarket rcl system up. If its just the rcl you are after, there are loads on ebay for under £20. I got mine on there for £15 and it works a treat!
-
did you wire it to your alarm and indicators?
-
No! it was a failure on the guide, so I couldnt be bothered with the hassle of figuring it out! I am an engineering technician by trade so probs could have, but the truth is, I'm just simple lazy! (and if I failed I would have felt a bit of a dick!)
