Title: Remapping non-turbo Mk4 GTI
Post by: Tazzy on 07 March 2011, 21:20
as soon as i can afford, and just after ive done a full service, i plan on getting my car remapped by thor racing in coventry, speaking with them, weve figured we can get a 7bhp gain, to 132bhp

with already having the exhaust done, stainless steel with cat and middle box removed and pipercross panel filter, is it possible to do anything else to push it to 140bhp?

thanks

Thats the problem with n/a engines, very little you can do through the ecu to massively increase your power. Might of been cheaper at the starter to stick the 1.8turbo lump in it.

i could get hold of everything i need to turn it into a turbo, but my mates wants £1k for the whole car, its about 220bhp i beleive

tbh, i dont really want it turbo, its the everyday car, mainly to get to get to work and do the weekly shop, i just want it that little bit more for when i do track days

Doubt a remap will see 7bhp, 2/3bhp at the most
