Hi
Probably a basic question but I need a switched 12v supply and am wondering how best to take this from the fuse box. Do I need to undo the fuse box (batt disconnect first) and add in my connection to the back of the fuse box? Or, can I do this somehow from front of fusebox? Should I connect into an existing switched supply like the cigarette lighter or should I be connecting into a spare unused fuse position?
Thanks.

Ok so after some more digging around perhaps the best place to take the feed from is the cigarette lighter which I have looked and figure I can cut into and piggyback a wire from. Now I need to figure out how to get the satnav wire from the right hand side of the window area through to the cig lighter area. I can see how to feed the wire down into below the steering wheel area, but haven't figured out what bits of trim I might need to undo in order to get the wire from there to the cig lighter.
If anyone knows a better way of doing this or can give me some tips, feel free to chip in!

Type 'add a fuse' into the search engine of ebay.
You will see they give a fused output as well as the standard fuse basically it piggy backs the old fuse slot.
The fusebox on the side of the dash. All the slots/fuses at the bottom of the fuse box next to the 30A ones including iirc the 30A ones are switched 12V

That's great thanks, I reckon I'll go down that route, seems the simplest. Thanks.

Just to update, wired in the satnav no problem. Fed the satnav cable down into the fuse area, plugged it into a female cigarette lighter socket , cut the end of that socket wire and terminated the earth in ring connector which I then connected to stud in the fuse area and fed the power wire through an inline fuse and then using a piggy back fuse holder into fuse 42 (cig lighter) in fuse box. All works fine. Thanks for the help.
