Hi guys and girls
My names steve, im based in stoke on trent, and currently drive a subaru impreza verson 1 sti, highly modified, but its got a bit to hard for daily driving so, just bought a mk3 golf gti 8 valve on an "r" plate, hence joining the forum, its in an unusual colour, although factory i think, its in very good condition for its age and mileage, and will be a general day to day runabout.
I know its supposed to be the worst model of golf gti but ive always liked the look of them, and this one came up close by at good money so test drove it and everything is good.
No major plans for it as yet, but will generally give it a good tidy up and take things as they come.
Anyway, that' s enough from me, i,ll stick some piccies up when ive picked her up next week, and look forward to learning as much about the car as possible as i go along.

this is my new runabout for the time being, provided its reliable, i can see it staying for some time!!!! Its a mk3 8 valve gti and its in mint nick considering its age, picked her up today, replaced 2 switch blanks that had been drilled to fit a handsfree kit by previous owner and thats all ive done with it so far, got a little bit of a bump on rear corner but thats it.
have hit one snag, but it hink its down to me being thick rather than the car, came to fit my cd player in it and everything works apart from the radio, cant seem to get the headunit to pick up any stations, but i'll have a look at it when i have more time at weekend.
leccy windows, leccy mirrors, leccy sunroof, fog lamps, the whole lot works a treat as well, i have to say im quite impressed. i always liked them but never got round to having one. no major plans for it, it will be a looker rather than a goer i think.
full stainless jetex exhaust, sill protectors, bonnet struts, lowered all round, engine is standard, not even an induction kit.
dead chuffed with her.
