Well after joining the vdub crew i am pleased with my car and love that it drinks nothing on fuel but very unsure weather to keep it or sell it on!
Since owning the car here is what i have done!
full years mot and 6 months tax
full new brake lines at the back
2 new front tires
new exhuast - Cat- downpipe and centre pipe!
fully sanded the entire car down! knocked out all the old rust and filled it in!
then full coat of chalkboard paint (5 coats) you can draw on it!
for photos look on my facebook of bits whilst its been done!

how much am i looking at? roughly
-
Not worth a lot.
Reference drinking fuel, have you replaced the temp sender.
-
it drinks nothing :) its brilliant on fuel sorry! maybe my language isnt the best!

You can't see the facebook pics if your not your friend, but for a 1.4 with a home grown paint job you won't be looking at much more than about £350-400 I wouldn't have thought :undecided:
-
with a full fresh years mot and 6 months tax? thats nearly 150 on its own. and the paint job is good just chalkboard :) full uprated sound system inside as well
-
£410 then
-
most you would see is £500 on a good day
-
Just to show you what else you can get for sub £500, bear in mind that this is what they are advertised for and the chances are they will sell for less:

Those are all from a dealer as well, so you could expect less as there is no come back for them should anything go wrong. Unless you can offer a warranty that is!
-
My current mk3 is perfect inside and out and cost me €750 about a year and a half ago. 1.4s just aren't worth much to be honest.
-
I sold my 1.4 with 100k miles for £400 over a year ago, if I were selling it now I doubt I would have got that.
-
Dom is about right £400 or on a really good day £500
-
i got my 95 1.6 cl for £800 and that was with 1yr mot 6mnths tax full service history with 61000 on the clock, one owner from new and paint and interior was sutupidly clean, that was at the start of the year. unless there in good nick 1.4's are pritty werthless i think
-
ok thanks mines done 93k not 140k + but i see
-
I guess the bigger question is what do you think it is worth.
-
Pictures would also help with a valuation, as would any recent work you've had done on it? Any history with the car? When was it last serviced? etc etc.....
-
£300
-
i have some pictures of said golf.... enjoy
