Title: earthing my amp???

where would be the best place to put the earth cable in the boot????

I take it youve got a mk3 if so I put mine under the rear seat straight to the body  :wink:

yh i lifted the back seat n theres just a random colourcoded bolt into the floor, i checked under the car to see if its holding anything but couldnt see anything. could i just use that bolt or would you recomend drillin a new one or somewhere different

I drilled a new one but theres no reason why you couldnt use a exsisting bolt just make sure if you drill nothing the other side  :wink:

Earthed mine next to the rear lights, been there a year and NO problems, until i have to replace my rear bulbs Doh!

Where ever you put it make sure you clean the paint work with a bit of sandpaper.. So it bare metal where the cble touch's.

Paint isnt very conductive of electricity.  :laugh:

also make sure u putthe inline fuse in the engine bay, i put mine in the boot and my mobile sparky went mad at me. some thing about if u crash and the cable comes loose and touches the body? i dunno
