Title: ko3turbo failure!! ko3s time??

My mates mk4 AGU has been blowing some serious blue smoke for a week or so now and turbo is starting to sound rough. What is the most financially viable option out of turbo refurbishment, replacement ko3 turbo or ko3s upgrade? Can anyone put a price to these options?

To add we live about 40 miles from York, so if you can recommend somewhere to take the car to that would be helpful  :smug:

Have you tried eBay? KO3's go for less then 300 on there and I have seen them go for 150-200, same as the KO3s but I think once you've fitted one you have to get it mapped up? As for refurbishment I'm not sure on the cost of that one.

Im selling my k04-023 turbo with new exhaust housing including all oil and water lines for £300

Yeah mate, all is good, bought ko3s ages ago and now heads have got to be changed over perfect excuse to get it on? Could probably have it posted out by wednesday?
