Title: tdi limp mode at 70mph or long drive
Post by: BOILINGPOINT on 04 March 2011, 00:11
Hello again,

My tdi golf goes into limp mode either after going above approx 70mph or while on a long drive. The main problem is my drive to work is 15 miles (long enough to go into limp) and its all long straight A road, most traffic is traveling about 80 mph. I'm that guy thats holding everyone up, big ques behind me and people overtaking me showering me in stone chips.

I have:
cleaned out the n75 boost controller
replaced all the vac lines
decoaked the inlet
had off and cleaned out the turbo pipe work
hit it with a hammer

None of which have made any difference

Any ideas chaps?

Took the inlet and egr valve completely off today.
Then started removing shïte from the inlet ports with a spoon!
Egr was totally blocked with soot as well.
After a good clean out the car now runs spot on.

Now overtake every one, who over took you.

I reckon it was the hammer whacking that did all the good in this instance.
