i got an '88 8v mk2. as far as i know '88 is the year vw changed from one to the other, how can you tell and whats the difference???? :undecided:

Should be a Digi as my late 87 is a digi.
If there are loads of pipes coming out of the top of the airbox it's a Kjet. If it has two small ones from the side and no others it's a digi.
Hope this helps (I had the same questions when I bought mine!)

cheers guys, definitely a digi then
-
K-Jets are obviously much cleaner than digis then?!!!

^ LOL.. was thinkin that too...
just to clear some things up....
1) can we see better pics of the 2 diff types of airbox? the digi one sounds similar to whats on my mk3 valver (not a surprise since its run by Digifant v3.2)
2) on those pics.. the throttle body is on the opposite side? (for a UK car) drivers side for Digi, passenger side for k-jet.
3) where is the ISV on the k-jet.. the digifant one is blatantly obvious.

the isv is on the side of the head on 16v mrk 2, not sure about 8v,

8V k-jet doesn't have an ISV. Certainly not on mk1's, never seen it on mk2's either but I stand to be corrected.
