Title: ok what shall i do
Post by: stainesy on 03 March 2011, 12:42: Ok after putting a lot of thought into what to do with my car I have decided the chrome does actuly look to much.
But I still want a golf that stands out.
I want ideas a
On what to do with it
Or maybe pics of what other people have done with black mk3,s.

Ok black golf blank canvas what do I do?
What ever I do it has to work with the silver lenso wheels tho.

Post by: tdi_blu on 03 March 2011, 12:54: I really dont think the car needs much just a few simple changes would really make it look sweet.If it was mine the Lensos would either be Black silver lip or Bright Red silver lip.All red rear lenses would break the black up abit on the rear plus all red rears look mint on black golfs.Some FK front lights there like projector but with black inserts and some tinted front fogs and indicators or maybe amber front indicators break the black up abit.As I said I like mk3s done pretty standard not really into smoothing and de-badging etc im sure others will have some good input.

Yes mate halfords its only cheap one roll should do all round the car simple to do aswell.

That may work well actuly as my rear lights are the clear ones that are clear red at the bottom.

Bit of a marmite question but if I was to do the red pinstrip and wheel centres.
What about if I did the bottom of the grill black but did them small chrome strips red?

Post by: tdi_blu on 03 March 2011, 13:46: Dont know hard to say about the grill shame you cant get someone who uses that photoshop and try some other colours on the wheels as I reakon alot of colours would work once you get the right wheel colour if you go that way then think about the body just looking at some black golfs now with different wheel colours.

These are the front lights I like may get some if I come across a set dont see to many of them about so there less common

Not a fan of coloured wheels.
Lensos are to common in black and painted. I like mine silver

Wasn't, used daily. Then went air but IIRC back on to coilovers.

Was ran at one point so low, on coils, that you couldn't get a VR lip on it at all.

Post by: tdi_blu on 03 March 2011, 20:11: Red pin stripe looks nice I would go back to the standard badged grill or if you dont want that use the de-badged one but no silver or any other colour.Loose the mirrors,number plate thingies and bin the DUB badge I would either tint the rears all red or go all black failing that the m3 style dont look to bad.Smoke the lights anber indicators black fogs job done :wink:

Where did you get them seats from? I have black leather but I want them seats!! I was thinking about mk4 r32 recaro's. not now though lol

i have endless vinyl access as i work for sign making company so i will vinyl the grill strips. but have to get a colour match for the pinstripes though

the one and only MJ of MJ Interiors did these for me, not cheap but the best, and he is a good mate too :-) they started life as standard cloth recaros, they now have all new bolsters and heating elements etc and of course the napa retrim, i love them
