i have to be honnest though. im not to sure on the chrome bit on the bottom that goes under the lights. was thinking maybe painting that bit black and just keeping the 2 chrome grill strips as i do like them.

That would look better, i'd loose the number plate surround as well though. It's a bit too much really :undecided:

Lose the bit at the bottom and you may be able to pull it off..  :undecided:

I hate chrome in general so i'm never going to like it!

The chrome look just isnt my thing to be honest but we all do things that others dont like to our cars.I just think your car would look so much better with no chrome black centres on your wheels and some smoked lenses and it would look really nice.

Ok ok let me get this strait in my head.
In the gold scene you get praise for stretching a kids dovet over your bonnet or having that rusty look bonnet but abit of shiney chrome is a no no.

Lol its a funny old world.
But year the bottom chrome bit is to much that will be painted black.

The thing is chrome has been given the bad reputation by Barry and his boys. Just like Burberry has been given the bad image by chavs, when in fact Burberry is a top end clothes designer.

Some small chrome, in certain places looks  But when you start chroming BIG stuff like the grill, wing mirrors, alloys and all it just looks too much. Think of it like Mr T and his gold...It's too much where as some gold, a ring, necklace maybe or a wrist band is decent and looks good.

My honest opinion? It looks cacks, as I said...too much chrome looks pants. But chrome in certain areas like interior door pulls, door pins, or like this (http://www.parts4euro.com/DCShop/images/medium/140006b.jpg?osCsid=7a0f066eea05967549a06036abfa3637)

I dont like the rusty bonnet look either not sure what you mean on the Gold scene but at the end off the day its only our opinions if your happy with the look then thats all that matters really.I just think chrome on a mk3 dont go yours doesnt look that bad tbh but think your car could look better de-chromed

Yeah I do see your point as I do think the bottom bit of grill looks sh!t. But I'm keeping the 2 small grill strips.
Wing mirrors I'm still on the fence about as I think they compliment the wheels.
Well atleast my rims only have a chrome rim lol.

Was actuly thinking of loosing the chrome number plate surround moving number plate down near front skirt and smoothing old number plate area.
What ya recon?

Thing is a lot of people keep saying loose the chrome and put more black on car.

Everywhere you look you see black cars with black lights and wheels and there's nothing on them that stands out. They all just look black.

If I was to loose the contrasting crome then it would just be another mk3 that looks like the rest of them.

When I bought the car the plan was to do white details but when I put the white wheels on it looked crap.

If you like the chrome bits just lose the mirrors and number plate surrounds and I think it would look loads better. The grill would look ok then as you havent got to much chrome going on.Moving the plate doesnt really look great on a mk3 tbh why alot of people just put them in behind the sunvisor.

Is that legal?
Title: Re: well here it is on the car.

Is that legal?

Nope but it is a grey area, it should be mounted to the front of the car.

Thats why I would just leave it where it is as it dont look to good anywhere else.

Yeah I thought that.

Well at the weekend I'm going to take the wing mirror covers off and number plate surrounds off and paint the bottom of the grill and see how she looks. Can't hurt to have a look.
