Title: Handling Question
Post by: Spam on 02 March 2011, 15:49
I have a mk3 16v

Polly bushed front end with eibach anti roll bar. I have not fitted coilovers as yet.

I have wear on the outer edge of the front tyres

Q: is this because the struts and springs cannot deal with the ARB?

Its as if through cornering the camber becomes postive running the outside ege on the tire.

Any info would be great, still learning about all of the details with hadling etc.

Thx

Have you had the tracking sorted, sounds like it could be out  :undecided:

Interesting. I'm having the same wear on the outside of the tyre.

Is it anything like this?

Mine is rubbing on the coilover, as I can see rubber deposits around it. However now you've mentioned ARB, I'll check mine out.

Do you get any rubbing/grinding noises at crawling speeds?

The wear is mainly on the outside of the tyre. Im still on the original 15 inch wheels.

I will check the tracking on the weekend.

Havent had any rubbing though, Are your whels aftermarket?

Wear on the outside edges could be camber or tracking plus also worth checking your tyre pressures
