Probably more! Just look on Autotrader and see how many used Golf R's are on there over £30k!
There's even one on there for £39k USED!!!!!!

Just a Golf.....

I was hoping for an Edition 35 preview!

Instead in a bid to boost slow sales of the R model, they give it some trim changes and no doubt charge something stupid like 2k for the privelage.......  :undecided:

I intended to purchase a new Golf R, but after taking into consideration all costs I decided on a GTi (new, last August). When I priced up the R, I felt that £30k+ was alot to pay for a Golf. Sometimes I wish I went for it, but most times I am glad I stuck to the GTi, it has enough round ability for me personally.

Yeah - it's good, ain't it?

There's a real supply issue for both new and used Rs at the moment...

Slow sales? Hmm... more like limited supply. I don't think the extras on the special edition will be made available to Joe Public... it's just a concept AFAIK

Don't get me wrong, I'd have an R without a doubt but couldnt justify (to the wife) the cost.

Same here Jim, £30k for a Golf is very high in anyones book TBH.

Will consider one next year when changing the GTi as I really do like them, but I'd have to get a good deal to tempt me.

Still waiting for an Edition 35 or like.

Even the new Golf Cabrio now has the R wheels, rear lamps and the 210 bhp of the GTi.....

Come on VW bring out a half way house between an R and a regular GTi for the Anni model, both in price and performance.

The half way house is a Revo stage one or similar.

I'm looking at the VW Racing stage one, and hope to get that sorted soon.  That will be 250 horses and optimized for the MK6.

Cheers,

Jim

I'm in the same boat - remap/exhaust/filter change up to 250/260 bhp on the GTi will do for me. The R's an awesome looking thing but I could never justify £30k for a Golf. Madness.

Like it, but like pretty much everyone else it's gonna be far too expensive for a Golf.

Would be very interested if they did a limited edition 35, but it's looking promising :-(
