Post by: valver3g on 28 February 2011, 18:11
if i change my ecu, how do i retrieve the 5 digit code to match it the new one to the original immobiliser? ive got a memoscan u585 tool, that can do it but i just dont know how to. anybody got any ideas?

Not sure about memoscan tool, but when Rtech came over to help me out they used vagtacho to get the code, then vagcom to recode it.

you dont need the code to swap the ecu, you can do it in vag-com. you only need the code if you want to add keys to the car or change the immob control unit:

as per the text near the bottom of the page on a mk3 you go to [25 Immobilizer] not instruments
