I am the proud owner of a PD150 ARL.
Right, a couple of things I need help with please...
I recently had the N/S under-engine guard thingy removed, because it was hanging down and looking unsightly. I didn't do it myself, I got a local garage to do it whilst I was in work. When I collected it, he handed me this pipe, telling me not to worry as it wasn't an essential part of the engine. I'm of the opinion that if its there, its there for a reason.

Now, I know where it goes, it fits into the lower front bumper and serves as a cold air intake, but it doesn't have anything to connect to at the other end! It just points at the gearbox! It obviously clips into other piping, but that other piping just isn't there. But, since it's removal, the car does feel under-powered, can anyone shed some light?
Also, I removed the engine cover, and just behind the oil cap I find this...

Is there supposed to be a plug that goes into that pipe? I can't see one hanging anywhere. What is that?!
Many thanks for any help.

1-That is I think the brake cooling duct that was fitted to the 150pds. Not vital as wasn't fitted to another diesel mk4.
2-There is no plug.
