Hi all, taking aside the so called reliability issues with using launch control out of the conversion. Why can't I get it to work?
1. I turn off traction control
2. Put it in sport
3. Put foot on brake
4. Put foot down on the accelerator....
And it revs normally and pulls against the brake.
Any ideas?

Proper procedure is:-
Dip clutch.
Put into first gear.
Let out clutch while controlling throttle.
Away you go.

Apologies Jimmy, just had to.

Did you let the car get to operating temperature, it won't work when cold AFAIK

Not slagging off, just banter.
Seriously though, VW have probably disabled launch control until the engine is hot enough to cope with the added stresses.
Bad, bad, bad to thrash a cold engine.

My Ibiza Cupra DSG never had this, does the GTI have it?
-
Your doing it right, works fine on mine

It's all because of the daffodils and the tree sap.
Quote below is from my thread: 'The Three Best 225/40 R18 92Y XL Summer tyres?'
Now that's really off topic!
Tree sap it is then. The daffs are coming out too
My car is getting the works this weekend.

Spring is the start of the mating season, therefore the Sap is rising ie everything in the natural world is getting frisky

Yeah, there's having a laugh about daffodils and tree sap making a mess on your car, funnily enough, the birds seem to like to poo on mine this time of year? :S
and there's people slagging each other off for getting a manual or auto, it's not just this forum either though...... :)
Hope I don't get the michael taken out of me for having a black car....... :P

There is no proper launch control feature on the golf dsg. However you can mimick the feature. Have a look in u tube, there are loads of vids showing you how to do this. Something the manual boys cannot do. Who wants to be changing gears in this day n age anyway ?
