as above realy. i cleaned the engine bay yesterday but the hoses and pipes have gone all dull and i wanted to know what you guys use to shine them up without causing any problems. i was thinking auto glym bumper care?

a spray dressing will be more effective, megs all season dressing something like that.
best way to apply it is heat the engine and bay up so its roasting then open your bonnet spray dressing over the whole engine bay close the bonnet and allow to dry for an hour or two then open the bonnet again and with a clean microfibre remove any excess, job done.
