Title: Remap at DG Auto tech k03 or k03s ??
Post by: dantheman6554 on 24 February 2011, 14:35
Visited DG Auto tech in kidderminster on the weekend, Paid £200 inc Vat for my remap, very happy with the service and the map itself , car pulls well, and on the way to work today (30 miles)  it showed average of 44 mpg!

need to fit a new N75 valve as shes holding back a little, but this is common ive been told,

My question is  im running a 2001 AUM on 66k,   forge 007p ,   how easy is it to tell if ive got a k03 s or k03?  my old engine was a k03, but people on here say after 2001 are k03s, or am i being stupid, and its actually 2002 reg onwards?

Cheers

Dan

Remove the TIP and count the blades. 8 you have K03s, 12 you have a K03. Only real way to be certain.

110% K03s fitted to all AUM & AUQs, the AGU and ARZ all used k03.

With 66k I would say your N75 is fine, the problem could be MAF realted (44mpg for a 30 trip is very high and could be linked to the MAF being faulty)   I good sign of a duff maf would have shown up in the fuel trims blocks with vagcom prior to remapping the car.

Other causes of holding back is running 95fuel on a strong ignition advance map, leaking PVC or the rear pancake pipe leaking.

One thing i have noticed, but its stopped now, was pressure in the fuel tank when filling up, one day she literally pushed fuel out the cap!, map seems 95% okj, will try n75 and see what happens
