Hi, I have recently defected from BMW after my E34 dumped it's clutch slave for the second time in a year (after having an engine swap and about a hundred other problems...) and therefore lost me my drive in a 12 car rally last week. Despite having 9 cars already, none of them apart from the Defender were going, and hubby needed that for work. Fed up being stranded and unable to get to my workshop, decided to buy another car. Autotrader had choice between Mk2 MR2 (always fancied one but it was unfortunately automatic) and Mk3 Golf GTi. I've never really been into front wheel drive etc. but thought it would at least do for rallying. I'd been in it about 3 seconds and decided to buy it! Huge fun! Since then (I've only had it since Sunday) I've found loads of excuses for needing to go out for a drive...

Welcome...

I collect and restore them, also hire out for weddings etc. Now I've been bitten by Golf bug, I have noticed a tired looking Mk 2 that might have to join the collection...

Welcome!
Glad you love the Mk3!

12 car eh? Always fancied giving that a go. I belong to my local Motor Club and they do Auto Solos and Sprinting but I don't think any 12 car.
Anyhoo welcome aboard and go save that MKII!!!!!

What kind of workshop have you got?

Industrial unit for car restoration. Kind of outgrew home! I've just realised it's my eleventh car, I lost count.

Not sure why not all clubs do 12 cars, we only have a couple per year, but other local clubs run them, so maybe you can join up with another lot. Scatters are good, not as fast or precise as 12 cars though, but more clubs do them. Can't wait for the next one, that Mk3 is a hoot on back lanes at night!
