Title: How does the C/L work on a Mk2?
Post by: Len on 23 February 2011, 16:10
The central locking. Is it like a Mk3 and by air?

yep all air powered. the drivers door has a simple 2 way switch which has a permanent live feed. then 2 more wires from the switch to the pump in the boot. when the door is locked it sends 12v down 1 wire, and when unlocked it sends 12v down the other wire. it has no deadlocking system either, unlike the mk3 which does i think?

Oh no!

Looking for something for my smoothed hatch!
Right well will have to get a close up look at a Mk2 hatch then, or a Jetta boot!

i'm pretty sure the mk3 hatch works the same as a mk2? the deadlocking thing is on the doors
