After thinking the car was fixed re motd failed again diagnostics threw up lamba was f**ked along with other things
one thing though was intake manifold pressure sensor
not 100% sure where it is:/
someone on here got an idea?
The car is a mk3 golf gti 16v abf engine
Cheers help much appreciated
-
its in the ECU, its prob the vac line from the ecu to the inlet/brake servo is damaged rather than the map sensor itself
-
Is this the brown and the black line running into the airbox ?
-
No, it's a vac line running from behind the manifold to the ECU.
-
Here.

The blue vac line at the top of the picture.

Got it it's split right at the manifold
Cheers
any ideas where I will get a new one ?
-
Any motor place/DIY store should sell vac piping.
-
Sorted I just cut off the bit with the rip on it thankfully just a small bit then re attached the hose car is iydlin perfect now just need to pit the new lamba sensor on
-
Got the new lambda sensor today from vw £110 seemed not to bad
going to fit it tommorrow do I need to drop the whole exhaust off to get to it ?
-
£110??? wtf? all i know VW use bosch? (well for the mk3 anyway (and i got mine for £50) i think
-
Can you take it back ? I got a lambda and controller for £120. You should be able to get to it in place, obviously would need jacking up etc.
-
oem lambda sensor is £35 - 45 for the abf
-
I already took it back vw gave me the wrong one tbh the guy I dealt with was useless.
Anyways put the car in for mot and it passed car seems to be running fine for now so going to leave it and enjoy driving for abit since this is the first time iv been able to after buyin it almost a month ago :)!
