Post by: Dan_GTI on 21 February 2011, 14:10
ive posted twice on the rattling i had which was thought too be DMF failure so... i had a new DMF and clutch fitted and the problem is still here, on idle the engine sounds as if it trys too stall very slighty and theres a small clunk also when the engine is turned off theres a clunk which only stops if the clutch pedal is pressed. Do i have the dreaded camshaft ?

Whip the rocker cover off and inspect the lobes and followers.  Look for any signs of abnormal wear or pitting

Fingers crossed you don't.......
