Title: Electical Problems???
Post by: Mini Mark on 21 February 2011, 07:43
Hi Guys

I need your help/advice....

A few weeks ago the mfc on our 2006 2.0 TDI sport started resetting itself every time the car was parked up for more then a few hours. This I could live with but on Saturday I was traveling down the M40 in the rain when the wipers stopped working and the indicators had packed up too I  pulled over to check fuses nothing wrong there, luckily I was traveling in convoy so my mate stayed behind me so I could get to the services.  The RAC came out the wipers and indicators started working again by the time they arrived. But then the ABS light was on!!!  The RAC man checked the car over and plugged it in to his computer and checked it for faults it was saying something about an earthing fault but no where its going in to the garage next to work today but any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks

Mark

Ps hope its not to ££££ as just made an offer on a leather interior!!

Right the saga continiues    the garage next door to work who lok after my Mini have had the car in taken the abs pump and module off and had it tested there is nothing wrong with it phew but it still doesn't help explain the issues the car has speaking to the garage they say theres a small chance that when they re fit the unit it may clear the abs and traction control lights but before the unit was sent away there were loads of communication faults too which the garage cleared but they came back again so confussed the other thing the garage mentioned about the cam wiring ring thingy that the might have a break in it would this be expensive??  Is it likely??  I'm lucky as I have been able to dirve the works Crafter bluemotion nice to dirve and the caddy too but I miss my golf and what it back after I spent most of last saturday cleaning it
