is it possible to put a vr6 engine into a mk2 golf with a syncro drivetrain?  :huh:

The gearbox bell housing is different, so you would have to use a vr6 bell housing on the syncro transmission. Don't know for sure, but I think the syncro trans is not up to the power of a vr6, wasn't the syncro a 1800 carb engine?.

cheers steve for letting me know, yeah they are 1.8 carb,

i'll have to look into if it could take the power

swap the syncro drivetrain for the rallye on. that'll handle more power and I think it'll be a straight swap.
