Title: immobiliser/ radio problem

Really weird, but i have just brought a new mrk 3 gti 8v. But the only problem ive had is that the raidio wont come on when i turn the key, then when i turn it back it comes on??? Untill i putt the key out, then after messing around with the imobilser button, on occasion ill get lucky and it will work when i turn the key... So is there a fault of is their a certain way to unlock the car or unimobilise everytthing?? cos the car starts but raidio doesnt wana know and its driving me mad.

sounds like the wiring or the ign switch is bust, the factory stereo wiring isnt anything to do with the immobiliser. if it was the immob, then the car wouldn't run either!

check the wiring from the stereo see if its been bodged, should have a red wire for stereo live, and a thin red/brown which is the key-in-ignition live
