The past week the car has started to lock when i turn the ignition.
This never happened before, is this how the mk3 gti should operate or is there a fault?
When I turn off the ignition I have to pull the lock up to get out which then unlocks all the doors.
Think it could be something to do with the pump in the boot?
Any advise plz?

does it have an alarm fitted?
-
No Alarm fitted although there was once by first owner(i know the guy)
-
It sounds to me as if it wasn't removed / deactivated properly.

Well i've never had the problem the three years i've owned the car until this week?
I don't have remote locking either just to keep it nice & simple
Makes me think its the pump that's faulty.
Tried looking in existing threads on here but know one has mentioned this problem before.

Bump-Its not the alarm have checked it out.

the pump shouldonly have power from the switch(es) in the door(s)
if its doign the above then you have a wiring fault somehwere. check in the rubber boots between the door and the body to start with, then look under the dash.

Open the doors and you will see the boots going from the door to the pillar :afro:
