Hi,
I have just recently bought a 1989 1.8 GTi 8v and it needs a few things doing on it, one of the annoying things that needs to be done is the left rear speaker mount. Looks as if the previous owner had a break in and someone tried to rob his speakers, as the plastic lugs, the actual metal speaker brackets go onto, have been cut off. I still have 2 of the plastic lugs, all the plastic stoppers, but only one metal nut/fixer that holds the speaker up.
Was thinking of trying to glue the 2 remaining plastic lugs back on, but I still have the problem of the missing metal nut/fixer.
Anyone who has any suggestions to this problem I would be happy for your advice
Cheers

take a metal bolt off the parcel shelf supports and use it as a speaker bolt.
Should hold the speaker on

A second hand one should not cost alot of money from a breakers. They are easy to take off and swap too... You can get the correct nuts from vw still they r next to nothing aswell...

Thanks for the advice guys will get a new one or try using a parcel shelf bolt.
One other thing, is it easy to acquire the bulb for the boot lamp?

go to a scrap yard to get the parcel shelf support, making sure you get one thats intact!! and go to any motor factors or halfords to get a bulb. cheap easy and redily available!
